My Son, The Singer

Just recently, Hayden has taken up singing.

This is a really big deal for us, because with his hearing loss it's pretty difficult for him to hear all the notes in the music. He does his best to mimic songs for his shows like 'Little Einsteins' which he does pretty well. When he doesn't have anything to use as a model, he has no problem making up his own music and lyrics.

One day when we were driving to the pool, he just opened up with an original and rather topical song we call 'We're going swimming':

We're going swimming,
We're going swimming.
We're going swimming,
ALL DAY LONNNNNNNNNG!

He also learned a song at school that makes us smile when we hear it - especially the chorus:

If all of the raindrops were gumdrops and lemon drops,
Oh what a rain that would be!
Standing outside with my mouth open wide, saying (at 200 decibels)
AH AH AH AH AH AH AHHHHHHHHHHH!

And finally, there are the truly original random songs he comes up with, like:

I love you dad,
You're my best friend.
I want to grow up big and strong,
So I'm going to eat all my vegetables and food.

He's a very strong singer.
